When you grow up in a little tiny town....there is huge excitment if a carnival comes.
One time they had a bear you could wrestle and win a $100.00 One of our towns people (missing a screw or two) gave it go and supposedly was winning when they called it off. I was too small to remember it, but it is a great story.
and oh that cotton candy......

i like how the traveling carnivals still set up in small towns everywhere.
YUM, I think I would trade the 'Carnival' for the 'Cotton Candy' :) so fun!
We have an amazing Carnival in Leicester UK. It's the Carribean Carnival with lots of Jerk Chicken and Dumplings. We also have cotton candy but we call it candifloss.
I'm blogging A to Z too at A to Z of Nostalgia
Perfect timing for this post! Our local county fair is coming this week. YEAH!
We visited our local county fair for the first time in years last fall and had a wonderful time. So many pretty colors.
just stopping by from the A to Z Challenge. I think carnivals can be exciting even if you're not from a small town, they are cheaper than the big amusement parks, so when you can't afford the big ones the little traveling carnivals are great!
We still get that traveling carnival in June!
