True Freedom requires responsibility

We all read the headlines:


"On this day in 2008, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois defeats Senator John McCain of Arizona to become the 44th U.S. president, and the first African American elected to the White House."

 

This was a lie from the start as pointed out by Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman
when speaking on NPR  he stated Barack Obama is "not America's first black president. He's America's first mixed-race president"
 
But to take it a step further Dr. Jack Wheeler points out that Barack Hussein Obama is half white and half Arab not African American. He did not come from descendants of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. His middle name, Hussein is derived from Arabic and  his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.





No matter what his name....Barry Soetoro, Barack Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barack Hussein Obama or what his color or mixture, many people were duped by the race card and his brilliant "Hope and Change" theme in which people inserted their own idea of hope and change and did not look for the qualifications needed to lead our great country. Consequently, a high percentage of people are very unhappy today. It might be good to remember that you not need to be on a southern plantation to be a slave, if you are dependent on government entitlements you just have a different slave owner.

Devil's advacate

 

If you have watched the news at all you will recognize this picture of the Marine that accidently crossed the Mexican border with guns and ammo in his car and most everyone here in the US is outraged at their insensitivity to the situation; but let me play the Devil's advocate for just a bit. That country does not allow guns in the hands of their citizens...it is their law and this man for whatever reason showed up there with them. Also does anyone remember Fast and Furious?  Did you ever hear Eric Holder apologize to Mexico for all the illegal guns that he sent their way? Most of us was outraged because one of those guns killed one of OUR border agents and yes I agree but maybe this has been a little one sided if you look at it from their perspective. I do hope that they will be able to see that  this Marine had no evil intent and let him come home but I think giving them time to go through their process is not unreasonable and by the way do you know how long US citizens sit in jail waiting for a hearing?

Other purposes of the Great Wall have included border controls, allowing the imposition of duties on goods transported along the Silk Road, regulation or encouragement of trade and the control of immigration and emigration. Furthermore, the defensive characteristics of the Great Wall were enhanced by the construction of watch towers, troop barracks, garrison stations, signaling capabilities through the means of smoke or fire, and the fact that the path of the Great Wall also served as a transportation corridor.

They built this 2000 years ago and it covered 5,500 miles over vast terrain but we (U.S.) can't even build a fence to protect our borders with all our equipment and knowledge....

 

Shhhhh let's not talk about it

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on May 24, 2013   228 to 196 that prohibits women from having abortions 20 weeks after conception.
The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, authored by Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.), bans abortions after 20 weeks, based on the medically disputed theory that fetuses can feel pain at that point. It contains exceptions for women whose lives are in danger as well as some rape and incest victims who can prove that they reported their assaults to criminal authorities, but it contains no exceptions for severe fetal anomalies or situations in which the woman's health is threatened by her pregnancy.
Opponents of the bill, including the White House, took issue with its narrow exceptions and argued that it interferes with a woman's constitutionally protected right to have an abortion. The bill directly challenges the 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe vs. Wade, which protects the right to end a pregnancy up until the fetus is viable outside the womb -- usually around 24 weeks.


SHOCKED??  Well here is another picture you may want to see...

14 to 26 weeks is the second trimester

Well call me blind but I can't see much difference in the 10th week (the preferred time of abortion)and the 24th week other than size.

In 2000, cases of rape or incest accounted for 1% of abortions.^[46]
A 2004 study by the Guttmacher Institute reported that women listed the following amongst their reasons for choosing to have an abortion:^[44]

• 73% Cannot afford a baby now
• 48% Do not want to be a single mother or having relationship problems
• 38% Have completed my childbearing
• 32% Not ready for another) child
• 25% Do not want people to know I had sex or got pregnant
• 22% Do not feel mature enough to raise another) child
• 14% Husband or partner wants me to have an abortion
• 13% Possible problems affecting the health of the fetus
• 12% Concerns about my health
• 6% Parents want me to have an abortion
• 1% Was a victim of rape
• less than 0.5% Became pregnant as a result of incest

The study seems to show that most abortions are about convenience, stupidity or lack of responsibility so if the "Morning after" pill is available should abortion continue be legal?

Small Graces

I have been reading a book by Kent Nerburn

 "Small Graces"  and I have truly been moved by many of the stories he has told such as "The Gift of Clouds" on page 39. It is three pages long and beautifully written but I will try to share the point of the story. He says that he was once a cab driver and often picked up a blind woman from a University. They became friends and so one day he asked her if she could see just one thing for just a few minutes what would it be? Her answer was......clouds. I will quote this one section:
"Why Clouds? I asked.
Because I can't imagine them, she said. People have tried to explain them to me. They tell me that they are like cotton. They tell me they look like how fog feels. They spray whipped cream in my hand. They move my fingers over paintings of skies and let feel the shapes of clouds painted on canvas. But I am still no closer to an understanding. Yes, it would be clouds.
I look out the window of the cab. The clouds were moving, stately and triumphant, in majestic procession across the sky."

So here is the challenge....how would you describe a cloud to a person who has never seen one?

I won't give away his answer to her but what would your answer be?
