If you have anyone in your family that immigrated here to the United States or if you have you ever read any books about those who left everything behind to come to this country you will be touched to discover all they endured/worked for to come to this "land of opportunity" and all they gave up. It wasn't all just a choice...it was a requirement.
We should insist that if the immigrant who
comes here does in good faith become an
American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.

But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an
American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of
his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn't doing his
part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room
for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to
see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American
nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room
for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American
people.

But today we have......
I guess just being an American isn't good enough anymore and you don't even have to immigrant here.......
This is what is happening on my home front here in Arizona......

My mother would say our house is being built on sand...
AMEN! I can't add anything to what you have said so well. Thanks
I agree with Teddy and if they do not wish to learn our language and observe our laws, then go back to where you came from as apparently they do not want to embrace our country. Peace
