A rarity

Hubby and I have lived in our house nearly 30 years so it is safe to say most everything in my house is old and I don't buy things very often so when the bathroom scale AND the can opener took a dive I had to go shopping...

I did not enjoy the shopping experience (walmart where it is nearly impossible to find things) but have enjoyed the novelty of having something new. I must be on a role as I also ran across a set of sheets that I love and ordered them for our bedrooom.

House cleaning

I stared blogging in 2007 and it seems that I have either gotten, lazy, forgetful, nonchalant and  or distracted. I recently went blog searching and found one that interested me and was so glad that her blog was set up with labels so that I could quickly go to the areas I was interested in. It got me to thinking about my labels and was I ever sorry to see that many times I was not putting one or had multiples with different spellings and etc. so I have spent a bit of time trying to clean them up. I worked through to 2016 and then decided that was enough. What I hope it has taught me is that it is important to follow through. It also inspired me to go back and re-read all my posts and I found it to be as heart lifting as going  through an old photo album so if you find yourself looking for something to do give it a try.

I discovered several other things in my looking back project, I have just settled in and no longer search for new contacts and new interests. There was a blog that I loved http://pattybilline.blogspot.com/ called Simple Joys. Her last post was in 2012 and then she was just gone. I still on occasion go back land look at her site and am always uplifted by her wonderful talent. I really believe she could have put her pictures and writings in the form of a book.  I went through her site again recently and starting looking for followers of hers and found 3!!! I am so excited to get to know these three ladies and have left them messages. I guess there is a lesson to be learned.....You get out of something what you put into it.

Did you know?

The first revolving door was invented in 1888 with the goal of preventing wind, snow, rain, dust, or noise from entering buildings. The original patent application was filed by Theophilus Van Kannel of Philadelphia. (He was granted U.S. patent 387,571 for a three-wing “Storm-door structure” on August 71888.

Gone

Well if you are like me you woke up this morning and Bloglovin was gone....poof. After much searching for information it appears it was hosted by Twitter and they have removed it. I tried to find another way to track my blogs that is simple and easy and updated only to find out that this very site has a venue for that. If you go to Design and look at the bottom there is a reading list. Just click on it and it will show you blogs that you followed. Most of mine were outdated and no longer running but you can go up to manage and add the ones you are following and then it will show all the posts of those blogs and when they updated and etc. Just click on the blog you are following and copy the web site and then add it. I just love it when the answer is right under my nose! Thank you blogger.

Update: I was able to find bloglovin.com and pin it to my reading list so now I have two ways of tracking the blogs I follow.

Repeat

I was re-reading some of my old posts back from 2012 and thought this should get another viewing.

Can you explain............

Why do women have to open their mouth to put on mascara?

Why don't you ever see a headline that reads "Psychic wins Lottery"?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor
and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why this is called "rush hour"

Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why do they call them apartments when they are all stuck together?

If flying is so safe.......why do they call the airport

the terminal?

and lastly I finally found the answer,
Con is opposite of pro right......
that is why congress is opposite of progress!
