It was Winter Range time again a couple of week-ends ago. I took a few pictures to share with you...
and this is how it looked after getting called at 2:00 AM saying one had hit our tent and all the guns were exposed.
Background and one hot air balloon early in the morning...
and in no time there were three on such a beautiful clear morning.
It had been windy and stormy the prior days so this was a pleasant sight for all.
That is hubby on the right getting ready to shoot and our friend from New York at the table loading.
Hubby walking up to the stage. See some of the targets in the back and the fellow in the beige jacket is our friend Owen, he is deaf so Bob interprets the instructions for him as well as shooting first so he can watch.....He is a great guy and shoots pretty darn good. Note hubby's jacket? Never miss a opportunity to advertise:)
I spent most of the afternoon at the mounted shooting area as it is my favorite event but fear not advertisement for hubby and the gun shop we are affiliated with were right there....
We have been affiliated with Legendary Guns for 22 years and Bob does all the gunsmithing for the 45's.
There were several cute sites about...
and many rows of vendors all in the big tents selling their wares.
Legendary guns had a tent as well and of course Bob shared it along with another friend but have you ever heard of a
micro burst? This is a picture of how it works...
Picked up our tent as well as four other and flopped it over the truck with the camper in the background....see the white propane tank to the right? That was in the middle of our tent. Bob didn't have any damage to guns because his were in cases but the gun shop had several rifles in racks and they got thrown all over and many of the old ones broke. Fortunately this happened Sat. night and all but a few of the shooting events were finished and no one was hurt.
The weather is always unpredictable at Winter Range but never had this happen before.

What a gorgeous sky! The balloons look so pretty against it.
I've heard of mircobursts in the forest where it flattens trees, but didn't realize it happened out in the open. Wow!
Sorry to hear that so much damage was done, but glad that no one was injured.
A whole lot of fun! Those balloons look so intriguing....and I wish I was brave enough to step foot in one:)
I am always envious of your travels and this really looks like it was a lot of fun as well as beautiful.
