Have you seen these in the grocery store?
Well, they are delicious
and especially with cream cheese with chives. Add a hard boiled egg and you have an instant breakfast.
Can you count them? Eight on the sock and 2 on the wire mesh. These are Lesser Goldfinch. They love the finch sock and I love to watch them.
Here is a great picture of one that I borrowed from the computer............
and they serenade with a sweet little song. We have fed these birds for some time now as well as others. Sometimes it seems they are going to eat me out of house and home. Who ever came up with the saying "she eats like a bird"....... has never fed one.

Birds are a lot of fun to watch.
I haven't seen the bagels, but I will look for them. Thanks for the tip.
I found those bagels and I like the cinnamon and raisin ones. sandie
a beautiful bird to see! lucky you!
Ron had developed an appetite for bagels so I shall look for these. It is hard to find anything he will eat so when I do, I stock up.
You know, I don't have to feed my chickens much because they free range and pretty much feed themselves. I wonder why wild birds don't do the same?
Nice to see the birds!
Love those finches AND that bagel. I miss the fresh ones in Maryland!
I so love yellow finches, especially during the gray days of winter.
You have reminded me it is time to get my feeders out, clean and begin the process of enjoying winter's bits of sunshine.
LOL I know the feeling as we constantly go to TSC to get bird seed and seed blocks. But the rewards from our feathered friends are worth the effort. Have a good weekend. Peace
What a beautiful bird. Too many carbs in bagels for my diabetes. Maybe thinly sliced would work. Will check them out.
