Letter A and our first recipe is for Artichoke
This vegetable grows to 4–6 ft tall.
If you have never eaten one you really should give it a try.
It is pretty simple..you just cook it in boiling salted water for 20 to 25 min. or until you can pierce it with a sharp fork. Drain it and set on plate to serve. Pull the leaves off stating at the bottom. You eat only the little fleshy part at the base. Some people like to dip it in melted butter. I like it dipped in real mayoniase and some restaurants serve it with garlic aioli.

Another blog I visited today also featured artichokes. I haven't had one in a long time, now I definitely want to get one for the weekend's cooking!
Thanks for visiting; I see you too are in Arizona :)
betty
I think I have only tasted this ONCE!!! I will buy one next time I'm at Central Market and give it a try!
I have always wondered how to prepare artichokes. I love them in restaurants but never dreamed they would be so easy to fix for myself. Thanks!
Artichokes are nearly at the bottom of veggies that I will eat - I don't care for them very much.
I have never eaten one, maybe someday...I am not even sure our grocery store has them:)
I've never prepared them myself, but I do like them.
You're off to a good start, I love these and it's a great image!!
