House cleaning

I stared blogging in 2007 and it seems that I have either gotten, lazy, forgetful, nonchalant and  or distracted. I recently went blog searching and found one that interested me and was so glad that her blog was set up with labels so that I could quickly go to the areas I was interested in. It got me to thinking about my labels and was I ever sorry to see that many times I was not putting one or had multiples with different spellings and etc. so I have spent a bit of time trying to clean them up. I worked through to 2016 and then decided that was enough. What I hope it has taught me is that it is important to follow through. It also inspired me to go back and re-read all my posts and I found it to be as heart lifting as going  through an old photo album so if you find yourself looking for something to do give it a try.

I discovered several other things in my looking back project, I have just settled in and no longer search for new contacts and new interests. There was a blog that I loved http://pattybilline.blogspot.com/ called Simple Joys. Her last post was in 2012 and then she was just gone. I still on occasion go back land look at her site and am always uplifted by her wonderful talent. I really believe she could have put her pictures and writings in the form of a book.  I went through her site again recently and starting looking for followers of hers and found 3!!! I am so excited to get to know these three ladies and have left them messages. I guess there is a lesson to be learned.....You get out of something what you put into it.

Blogs

Drum Roll please.....................................................

The consensus is that 100% has broadened their world through blogging!!!!
Most people read their blogs everyday.
Most leave a comment either because they like what they read or because that person left a comment on theirs.
About half the people search other blogs through comments.
Blogs are tracked by blogroll, Dashboard, Igoogle reader, side bar and favorites bar.

Thanks everyone...it was fun!

I am looking for opinion's here.

(A)   Do you think people leave comments on your blog:
1. Because you left a comment on there's.
2. Because they enjoyed what you wrote.
3. Because they are family and just staying connected.
4. Because you are on their followers list.
5. Leave your own answer

(B)   How do you keep tract of the bloggers you follow?
1. Have a special document folder with all of them in it.
2. Use your followers side bar.
3. Have them on your favorites bar.
4. Leave your own answer

(C)   Do read your blogs everyday?
1. Yes
2. No

(D)   Do you search other blogs comments to find new blogs that interest you?
1. Yes
2. No

(E)    Do you feel you have broaden your world through blogging?
1. Yes
2. No

I am just curious about these things and have a confession to make.... if I see a blog that has over 15 comments I rarely leave a comment myself (just figure they don't need mine).

To honor

A while back Granny Annie posted about how our blogs are like little pep rallies and I had to agree....I treasure all the comments even if they are from a different perspective but I am also drawn to those blogs who do not accept comments. I suppose they have different reasons for that decision. I would like to honor one such blog......One Snap

I found her blog through comments left on another blog we both enjoy and I have enjoyed the photo snapping moments of her life ever since....there are some pictures that are so beautiful it just takes your breath, like the following:

I don't know that she will read this but I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your life on line.

In rememberance

On May 14th I posted "It's a test" and put up pictures from peoples early blogs. I shared that there were two not claimed and I was concerned ......... This was Granny J's from Walking Prescott It is a picture of an angel her Mom made and hung on her door at the care center and it was from 2006. Today, Granny J's daughter Omega Mom, posted a special tribute to her mom as a last post for Granny J who has passed away. She shared this very special picture. You will be greatly missed Granny J.

Blogville blues

Maybe because it is summertime and people are on vacations or having company or just enjoying the nicer weather but whatever it is, it is mighty quiet in blogville. Many of my favorites haven't blogged in over a month and some I am worried that they have just given it up or that they are ill or worse, after all many of us bloggers aren't spring chickens. One of my favorites simple said they were closing it after two years of daily posting of pictures and I so appreciate the notice rather than just silence. So how about you? Do you notice less postings and etc.?

Blog titles

We all have struggled to come up with a blog title that seems to fit what we are about...there are a few that I happen to think are really cleaver:

1. The 3 R's...Reading-Ranting and Recipes

2. Button Willow Cottage

3. Ex Marks the Spot (read 1/29 post)

I chose "Changes in the Wind" as my title because of a saying that I am inspired by:

Healthy things grow.
Growing things change.
Change challenges us.
Challenge causes us to trust God.
Trust leads to obedience.
Obedience makes us healthy.
Healthy things grow.............

So what inspired your blogs title?

Wheat Field

I borrowed this picture this morning. It reminded me of the time I spent in Montana as a kid visiting my Grandparents. Montana is flat and when the wind blows the wheat field looks like waves of water and the smell.......................you will never forget the wonderful clean fresh smell. Thanks for the memory Kidscattleblog.

Bloggerville

Like most of you, I have a list of bloggers I visit on a daily basis and I have noticed a decline of interest and postings. I am curious to know why. I have considered that the long winter is taking a toll with being stuck indoors or that maybe we just run out of things to say? Or that it is taking to much of our time? Your thoughts?

Bucket List

One cowgirl has tagged me to make a bucket list. That is a list of things you would like to do before you die (kick the bucket). I must admit that I struggle with this because although I would like to do the following things, if I drop dead tomorrow I won't have any regrets, I am truly blessed right now today.

1. Go on a safari in Africa

2. Take a tour of Italy

3. Buy a motorhome and travel across the USA

4. Own a small cabin up north

5. Have some of the mysteries in my book solved

I don't like to tag other people so if you would like to join in please feel free to!

Restaurant Meme

While visiting over at The Geekwif this morning I decided to join her in this Meme.

Here are the meme rules:
*Link to the name of the person that tagged you
*Include state and country you live in
*List top 5 favorite local restaurants
*Tag 5 other people and let them know they've been tagged And like her, I don't play by the rules when it comes to memes, so my standard rule applies. If you want to be tagged, consider yourself tagged!

I live in Arizona, USA and my five favorite restaurant are:

1). Carvers Steakhouse. Like many restaurants my Hubby and I prefer to sit in the bar area, more cozy and comfortable. They often have a Pecan crusted sea bass special that we share and they offer scalloped potatoes as one of their sides.

2). Manuel's Mexican Restaurant. They have the BEST chips and salsa ever and over-all the best mexican food. I have to have my Manuel fix a least once a week.
3). Hammerhead. A seafood restaurant that has two huge fish tanks and the best deep fried shrimp appetizer.

4). Arrowhead Country Club. We go here nearly twice a week. They have a great prime rib but most important is they have Karaoke and dancing and great Margarita's.
5). The Olive Garden. This is a nationwide chain but my favorite here is their salad and bread sticks and the Eggplant Parmigiana.

If you haven't figured it out, I no longer cook so we eat out every night....that is why this spoon lives at my house!

Tagged

Sheoflittlebrain or http://oneacrewood.blogspot.com/
has tagged me for seven things about me.

These are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on you blog.
2. Share 7 random and or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

My answers:

1. I passed state board for my beautician license but never held a job as one.

2. I competed in the Worlds Fast Draw Association for many years and held many championships including the International Fast Draw Champion in 1978.

3. I taught myself how to sew and made my husband and I show outfits. Our highlight show was when we were hired by Westinghouse to do a show for the Army in Washington DC.
Boy did we get a lot of attention in Western clothes!

4. I wrote the book "Buckskin Bessie - Her Lost Letters"; Check out the link to the left.
It was a most wonderful, unexpected adventure.

5. Although happily married I have begun to travel alone a little. I felt that I needed to expand myself and it has been eyeopening!

6. I have a parrot named Toby and he hollers "hello" when I answer the phone so I am sure people probably think I stutter.

7. I taught myself to sign and have been privileged to influence the creation of a Deaf ministry at my church.

Now to tag seven unsuspecting bloggers:

http://doodledoodledo.blogspot.com/

http://chattycrone.blogspot.com/

http://shirleytwofeathers.blogspot.com/

and anyone else who would like to particpate:) Just leave a comment saying you are and we will check it out:)
