R for A-Z Challenge

R-Rapid City, South Dakota

Probably the most famous thing you will find here is Mount Rushmore
A truly amazing site and one that you can see for miles and miles. To read more about this amazing feat click here

sorry but I can't resist this popular cartoon that has circulated around.....
from the Canadian side.

To follow the theme of this popular attraction the city has erected many statues of Presidents around town
Here's a few for your viewing pleasure....

 James Madison

 JFK

 Richard Nixon

Ronald Regan

 Bill Clinton

You really need to go and see the Crazy Horse statue that is a work in progress
You can appreciate the challenge of this endeavor

Isn't this magnificent?
“Mitakuye Oyasin,” or “We are all related” is a sculpture depicting the Lakota Sioux philosophy that all two-legged and four-leggeds are spiritually connected.

Don't miss this peaceful spot....

Chapel in the Hills

Arriving visitors are greeted at the "Stabbur," which is an authentic grass-roofed store house, built in Norway and assembled on site. A Lutheran church that hold services every evening in the summertime.

Get up close and personal at the Custer State Park

Happy Trails

I've visited this area many times (my parents were raised in SD) and have seen most of the things you featured.

How great it would be to plan a trip to all your alphabet places! You should be paid for this publicity.

If I went there, I would have to pose with each one. LOL I loved the last one best with the eagle and Chief on the world. Great one. Peace
