Bet you didn't know

In 1926, when a Los Angeles restaurant owner with the all-American name of Bob Cobb was looking for a way to use up leftovers, he threw together some avocado, celery, tomato, chives, watercress, hard-boiled eggs, chicken, bacon and Roquefort cheese, and named it after himself:
Cobb salad.............................................. and 82 years later you call still order it at your favorite restaurant.

Cobb salad is always a surprise for the first time orderer. They think it will be a diet meal because it is a salad. WRONG! Oh, I love a good Cobb salad. Had no idea where the name came from. Thanks again.

Boy did I get a correction to what is stored upstairs. For some odd reason (My MIL has always gone on and on about how much she loves a cobb salad) for this reason alone, I thought they were some southern classical salad. I had to LOL when you corrected my misconception.
I would have had a great time in Oklahoma. Peace

It's real popular here in the Atlanta area - we also have a Cobb County - I thought both might have been named after the same person!

If someone takes the trouble to cut up the meats and vegetables into small bite sizes and arrangement them so nicely on a plate, how could I refuse to eat it.

Pass me the dressing, please.
