Show and Tell Friday

There is no place like home

This is a Christmas ornament that belonged to my Grandfather. I have had it for 40 years and I don't know how long he had it before I got it. It is really just plastic painted to shine and a very crude clip to attach it to the tree and then nylon strings make the tail.

I didn't know my Grandfather very well and only saw him, maybe three times in my lifetime but just knowing it was his, makes it special.

Our first year of marriage we didn't have any Christmas decorations and my Grandfather had passed away 7 months before so my parents brought these home for us. It included an aluminum tree (see picture under on my Nostalgia site).

Rook's nest, shared some special ornaments today on her site....check them out.

Go to the site you want to reference, and highlight the address (the www address at the top of the screen) and copy it.
Then when you are writing a new post and you want to refer to that person's blog, type that person's name, highlight it, then click on the "Link" button and add the www address that you have copied. The Link button is next to the Text colour button.
It's the same as making a reference to another web page.
Let me know if it works!

Actually, you've already done it, with my web site. You could just highlight Rooks Nest, and then add the www address in the Link buttin.
Am I making sense here?
I'm definitely a technopeasant where correct computer terminology is concerned.

That's a lovely ornament. I really like the tail. We have some birds that we put on our tree but they're feathery, and the kids are really attached to them.

Thanks for visiting NYC Daily Photo.

It sounds like you and your husband will have a nice, laid back Christmas.

Have fun on your new four-wheel drive vehicle.

A yellow bird on a nest of blue eggs is the first ornament placed on our tree. We have always been told that brings good fortune. My sister gave me a keepsake that was our grandfather's. She ran out of room for it in her home and it has made my Christmas to become the guardian. Finding your blog this year has truly been a joy. Merry, Merry, Happy, Happy, Ho, Ho, Ho......See you again in 2008!

Your bird ornament is lovely! And it's a family keepsake, so it's very special.

Came over from Parry's blog, and am enjoying reading your entries. Merry Christmas!
