Chatty Crone posted this a long time ago and
I liked it but it hits a little close to home these days.

Many changes come about when you have a broken leg but not all of them are negative. Instead of starting the day in the family room in front of the TV, I have been having my first cup of coffee at the dinette and what a sweet early morning view.....
If you look there on the bottom right.... that is some quail eating off the bird block.

I have discovered I accomplished my goal of creating a comfortable guest room by sleeping there.....very nice and lots closer to a bathroom with the walker.

I have lost a few pounds since going to the cupboard for snacks requires help:)

One of those old popular items have saved the day....
No water required to shave your legs.

Hubby and I are showering together just like newlyweds......of course there is great attention to me not falling rather than the playing around of old.
I have been surprised how many things we built into our home that meet the needs of someone in a wheel chair. It wasn't something we gave a lot of thought to at the time.
and lastly....hubby has stepped up to the plate like a champ!
Medical update: Had the temporary cast removed Monday and the seven stitches on the left side removed but the stitches on the ankle itself were not healed completely so casted it and will have to go back next Monday and do it all over again. Hopefully the antibiotic they gave me will do the trick.......That is the area where the bone broke through the skin and they put two screws in.

It sounds like you have been able adapt to your limitations without too much trouble. May your recovery continue to be steady.

Hooray for your caring husband! What a great guy. And hooray that you're healing as expected. Very frustrating to need help whenever you try to get around. But not for much longer, keep your fingers crossed.
I went through the same frustration after some surgery on my foot 3 years ago, thank goodness I had someone living with me who could help out. Better be careful now, as I'm living on my own again, nobody to pick me up if I fall over!!!

It sounds like you are making the best of your situation. And, after all, what else can you do? I think my mom had one of those razors....

Sounds as if you have made some lemonade out of lemons. Glad to get the update and pat the hubby on the back from kitty justice. Peace
