This is a butter press. It belonged to my Grandmother and was well used. After making the butter it was pressed into this and it would leave it in a nice shape with a pretty design on the top.
I don't know that our plastic tubs have been much of an improvement:)

I love your butter mold. I have made butter but never had a mold. I didn't realize today was show and tell Friday. I had my own show and tell anyway.
I like your butter press much more than the plastic tubs.
I bought a shortbread press once - didn't use it and gave it to a thrift shop.
