With all the political debates going on the lyrics to this song seemed to jump out at me.
Now the race is on and here comes Pride up the backstretch
Heartaches are going to the inside
My Tears are holding back
They're tryin' not to fall
My Heart's out of the running
True Love's scratched for another's sake
The race is on and it looks like Heartaches
And the winner loses all
I am very grateful for our political process and can not imagine anyone being willingly to take on such a huge responsibility as overseeing our country. I even have a hard time trying to understand what each candidate supports and all the ramifications of each of these positions. My consolation is that neither can they and that is why the President has a multitude of adviser's from a vast amount of life experiences.
What about you....are you involved in watching the debates?

I'm backkkkkk. .-)
Not much into it, this early. But! I have my criteria.
It's based on my view that Radical Islam is bent on burying us and submitting the world to their weird form of "Allah's Will thing." That is the over-riding issue now, to me.
My criteria is... who do I want in the White House, dealing with Radical Islam?
All other issues will be moot, if Civilization allows Radical Islam to prevail in its *Allah Given* Mission.
And that's about all I want to say, in 'Pretty Blog Land.'
I came to 'Pretty Blog Land,' and make my own places in it, to have a place of respite from all these thoughts/discussions, above. There are plenty of places on the Net for me, for such discussion. I had to make a place, where I knew I could avoid it.

My parents raised me to campaign hard for my Presidential candidate of choice. They also raised me to then support the new President regardless of who I favored. "We must always stand behind our Nation's President once they have taken the oath of office." I tried to do that, despite Nixon's Watergate all the way into hearing of Kennedy's indiscretions and into Bill Clinton's second term......until he looked me in the eye and said, "I did not have sex with that woman!" Now they have all lost me. Crooked politicians one and all! But, I still have confidence in the people of the United States and believe when push comes to shove, we will protect our freedom.
I too, feel that the overwhelming issue is to protect our way of life from Radical Islam, and am amazed that, so far, the candidates seem to prefer nit picking at one another's foibles or differences rather than taking a stand on the tough issues.
I'm annoyed that some feel the way to the white house is by promising Americans and non-Amerucans more and more free rides, rather than National Security!
smilnsigh....yeah you're back! I agree with you 100% but that does not seem to be the issue they are discussing:(
granny anni are you sure we are not related...I swear you sing my tune!
Amen Sheoflittlebrain!
I don't understand US politics, and barely understand our own here in the UK, it can all get so complex. But I do believe in freedom, and I like the lyrics to that song.
I have been following the candidates since day 1 - they all say something to sway me back and forth - I guess they wouldn't care being I'm Canadian and can't vote!
I was pleased that Hillary won in New Hampshire though I didn't expect it and I am glad she is female as I think our country is ready for a female to lead the nation regardless of who she is.
I also enjoyed reading your post today and also wanted to thank you for coming by my place and commenting.
Thanks to all who left a comment:)
I haven't been watching the debates, but I really need to before I cast my vote. I'm still undecided. However, I will stand behind whoever wins.
I hate when the campaigns turn into ugly mud slinging instead of focusing on important issues.
Pat yourself on the back... each of you...why because you care.....glad to have you on board..even if we differ:)
