Personal

Everyone's home becomes personal because of the individual likes and talents and history of  those that live there. That is why I like to have the antiques I have but I also have made a few items of decor.
This is a little embroidered piece I did many years ago and these two pictures are crocheted pieces then arranged into a picture

So what is in your home that makes it yours?

I like these pieces. I too have antiques and I love photographs of family with sweet travel mementos sprinkled around. The tv shows make homes so cookie cutter these days. No uniqueness at all.

Every where you look here, you can tell it's my house. From the pictures to the decorations. Good idea to take things we love into works of art.

I like antique furniture and kept a couple of pieces when I moved. Others, were given to family members. I have art pieces from my travels and some counted cross-stitched pieces made by myself and family members.

I love your personal art....how clever and creative!

Yes, my homelooks just like me. Once, when Amber was a teenager, she asked a friend if she had ever been to our house. The friend said she couldn't remember. Amber said, "Then you haven't been to my house because if you had - you WOULD remember!" I take that as a compliment!

Wow, that embroidery is so pretty. I sure enjoyed seeing your parent's bedroom set....oh my that is gorgeous. I remember seeing these sets nearly identical as a child, all over, our relatives had them. If you can find these these days in as excellent condition as yours it would be a lucky find. Most are very beat up. Love those old dressing tables the ladies used, with the big round mirrors, my Ma-maw had one very similar to yours. So many memories.... I can still remember her perfume bottles all arranged "just so" there. And a pretty "dresser set" mirror and comb and brush set. Face powder and lipstick, probably "cherries in the snow". Thanks for always stopping in, and for all your kind comments!
