The oldest blue whale they’ve discovered was calculated to be around 100 years old, though the average life is thought to be around 80 to 90 years.

we have a lot of whales here in new jersey, especially during fall and early winter. they have been breaching right off the beaches - they are huge, but i don't know what kind they are. this was so interesting!!
