I LOVE cookbooks

Maybe you don't think that is unusual but if you were to understand that I RARELY cook, you may think it a bit strange. Howerever, nothing makes me happier than to sit down with a cookbook and figure out what I might like. I have tried to curtail my puchasing but this is my stash at the moment.....

and if I see a deal on amazon....I just can't resist so I recently bought this cookbook at a smoking deal

It didn't say how old this book was so I was a bit surprised and confused when the recipes read like this.............................

Do you you see how she is refering to a "Menu-ette skillet"? Do you know what that is? Well, I didn't so had to go to google and guess what it is?

                                                                          This is it!

Well I don't have one of these and was not too sure I wanted to buy one but I do have these....
and somewhere in the recesses of my mind I remembered these....

Bought one so now I have a Menu-ette!

Did you also notice that she leaves a blank space on each recipe? That is so you can fill in how much time is needed for your kind of microwave. She was cooking on a 700 watt one which is pretty outdated now. Still it has some good sounding recipes.....................

Ah, the memories this post unearthed! I had a whole set of Corning Ware and a couple of the handles until a few years ago. That cookware was fabulous. I only have a few small pieces in my kitchen cabinets.

I like cookbooks too, but they can be dangerous for me! I remember those handles for corning ware. :)

I love this!!! I love cookbooks, too! However, I do not really love to cook and only do so because I must! I vividly remember earlier this year when my step son (who LOVES everything there is about food - buying, cooking, eating!!) asked me what I loved most about cooking!!! He was devastated to hear I didn't LOVE anything about it!! I think he is still recovering!!!

I have many many cookbooks too, I love to read them. I don't like cooking either. I look for old Church or groups cookbooks at garage sales:)

I am not so much a cookbook collector, but I used to clip recipes out of the newspaper and still have scrapbooks filled with the things! I am an admitted lazy cook, I don't mind it once I get started, but it's the getting started that is the problem :)

I too have a ton of cookbooks. Never could cook and still can't regardless of all the recipes available. Cooking for one for me now involves picking what Schwan's item to heat up:-)

Perhaps your cookbooks will inspire you to cook more. I was raised on Corning Ware. I still use my set (wildflower pattern) every day...mostly in the microwave.
