What to do?

Recently I was informed a former neighbor's daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. She is the same age as my daughter. They have set up a site on http://www.caringbridge.org/  This is a wonderful site that someone created so that people could use it to keep people informed. I really struggle with these type of situations because it seems to me that nothing is appropriate. Get well cards are out of the question, I am praying for you is pretty much a no brainer, stay strong seems to me to be an insult because if you could you would. So what would my response be? This sucks! Bad things shouldn't happen to good people. Well, I guess that wouldn't be very helpful either. I was mulling this all over and over and I heard  "laughter is good medicine"so that gave me a
I decided to make a packet of cute picture's, jokes, stories, scriptures and etc. and number the pages so that she could read them like maybe one a day. I borrowed things from other blogs especially Chatty Crone and hope you didn't mind.

I am always horrible in these situations. I never know what to say or do. My father-in-law died from Pancreatic Cancer, so I know this person has a hard road ahead. I think what you are doing is a great gesture.

First, thank you for coming over to my site and agreeing with me.
Next, this is wonderfully thought out and expressed. To you, I say Amen. I need to keep this in mind for such awkward situations. It's sort of like going to a funeral home and saying, "Oh, my, doesn't he look natural? No! It cannot be natural, since he has never been dead before!

What a terrific idea. Even if it hurts, it's wonderful when people inquire as to how things are going. This is great and what better blog to search than Chatty's.

Saying something is better than saying nothing at all..I do like your project..it will surely bring some smiles!
People won't know that you are praying for them..if you don't tell them. Stay strong..is always one phrase I use maybe too much.."Stay strong..and if you need help your friends will help hold you up! " Damn Cancer:(
