Toilet seat covers do not protect you from disease.......................................
Not only are venereal diseases not spread by toilet seats, but nothing else is either. Although there was one report suggesting that the herpes virus may survive briefly in such an environment, the Secretary of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeon's, Dr. J. Byron Gathright, Jr., put it to rest and agreed with all the other doctors..."There is no scientific evidence of disease transmission from toilet seats". Even other people's urine is not a potential danger it is just......gross!
So here it is folks......Toilet seat covers just help us with the icks and eww's and the thought of exposing our bare backside to the same surface area occupied by heaven knows who before you. I have to confess though....
these automatic ones are my favorite.....but if for some reason you don't use one be reassured.....it will be okay.

I liked it but it hits a little close to home these days.
Many changes come about when you have a broken leg but not all of them are negative. Instead of starting the day in the family room in front of the TV, I have been having my first cup of coffee at the dinette and what a sweet early morning view.....
If you look there on the bottom right.... that is some quail eating off the bird block.
I have discovered I accomplished my goal of creating a comfortable guest room by sleeping there.....very nice and lots closer to a bathroom with the walker.
I have lost a few pounds since going to the cupboard for snacks requires help:)
One of those old popular items have saved the day....
No water required to shave your legs.
Hubby and I are showering together just like newlyweds......of course there is great attention to me not falling rather than the playing around of old.
I have been surprised how many things we built into our home that meet the needs of someone in a wheel chair. It wasn't something we gave a lot of thought to at the time.
and lastly....hubby has stepped up to the plate like a champ!
Medical update: Had the temporary cast removed Monday and the seven stitches on the left side removed but the stitches on the ankle itself were not healed completely so casted it and will have to go back next Monday and do it all over again. Hopefully the antibiotic they gave me will do the trick.......That is the area where the bone broke through the skin and they put two screws in.
Hubby and I were out taking a stroll in the back yard last Friday and of course I noticed the grass growing in the ground cover on the little mound so I suggested we pull it.....I went to step down the mound to dispose of my accumulated grass and started sliding.........well, I decided to not include the first picture since the ankle was not only out of the socket but one of the two fractured bones went through the skin so here is is today.....
One week in this and then four weeks in a cast and then we start therapy and then......
we will see if I can still dance. Actually, I will be happy to just be able to walk without this walker. If you think the injury hurts...the muscles to support yourself on this walker are screaming!!

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun in one hand, pulling a male buffalo with the other.
He says to the waiter:
"Want Coffee."
The waiter says, "Sure, Chief. Coming right up."
He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp, turns and blasts the Buffalo with the shotgun,
causing parts of the animal to spatter everywhere and then just walks out.
The next morning the Indian returns.
He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling another male buffalo with the other....
He walks up to the counter and says to the waiter "Want Coffee."
The waiter says "Whoa, Tonto!" We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday. What was all that about, anyway?"
The Indian smiles and proudly says......
"Training for position in Untied States Congress: Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull, leave themess for other to clean up, disappear for rest of day."

July 6, 2010.....The Federal Government files a law suit against Arizona
The bases of this in a nut shell is that the government says that each State can't decide how to handle the Illegal Immigration problem that the government itself is not controlling however it is not a problem for San Francisco and other sanctuary cities to decide not follow the federal law that has already been established and a lawsuit was never considered.
What does this mean for me...A resident of Arizona?

I pay my tax to the Federal Government to follow the law and protect all our borders. I am now paying Arizona State tax to protect myself from the Federal governments lawsuit and meanwhile...................................
