National Anthem

By Congressional resolution in 1931 and signed by President Herbert Hoover, the Star-Spangled Banner was deemed our National Anthem.
We have heard it many, many times and are always moved but hear this rarely heard verse from this man and see if you aren't shocked! A side note....this is the fourth verse, not the second verse.....and in my humble opinion should always accompany the first verse.

That is so great. I had no idea. I do know about Herman Cain though and I'm not surprised he let this to the forefront of that tea party gathering. I hear he might be running for President in 2012 and if he were to win, he would truly be the first black President because he has ALL the qualifications.

I enjoyed the song and the phrase the man who sang it so eleoquent.
Playing catch up and I am so sorry to hear about the 25 mins invasion. Thank goodness for Toby.
I am glad I did not have a sip of coffee before I read the doggy blog as my screen would have been covered in coffee from my laughter. Thanks we all need a good laugh now and then. That is why I watch The Big Bang Theory on Monday nights because the actor who plays Sheldon keeps me LOL for a good 30 mins. Sorry to hear about the bloggers passing as it is sad to lose a friend no matter where you found them.
If only the majority truly did rule we would be much better off as a nation. Peace and again thanks for your concern.

Hi all, thank you for your comments...they are appreciated:)
I guess I was surprised that I was the only one that was some what shocked about that verse. I had never heard it before and since the question prior to it being sung was about taking out "one nation under God" because it was established in 1950. This verse is again another proof of our nation being established as a Christian nation.
