Did you know

Ivory bar soap floating was a mistake. They had been overmixing the soap formula causing excess air bubbles that made it float. Customers wrote and told how much they loved that it floated, and it has floated ever since.

Hello Monica,

Well, we had not heard of the miracle floating 'Ivory' soap bar until now. You are responsible for sending us on a research mission to discover more about this floating soap. It transpires that added air caused it to float but as the soap did not contain any oils [which would have made it sink] it left the skin dry.

So, would one choose a soap that floats rather than one which leaves a smooth skin? This is a philosophical question which we shall ponder further.

We have enjoyed our visit and shall stay in touch.
