Aunt Thyra's green beans
2# green beans 1 cup water
4 slices bacon 2 tsp. salt
2 small onions, chopped 1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. sugar
Wash and tip green beans; snap into 11/2 pieces.
Fry bacon and onions until brown in large heavy skillet. Add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling. Cover and simmer 30 min. or until tender.

ReplyDeleteThis is the way Louis Dean cooks his green beans! Sometimes he adapts it and uses canned green beans!
