Sidewalk BBQ

Last night we headed to I and J's for dinner and to sing karaoke. This business is tucked in the middle of apartments and in fact the entrance to the restaurant is also where the residents go to get their mail so it is a little unusual but I was set back as we drove in the and there was a group of people with their BBQ set up on the sidewalk cooking away and the kids riding their bikes in the parking lot...
but the more I thought about it....

maybe they were doing the best they could with what they had. Would you do this?

    If this was the only area for the residents to gather, and I lived in the neighborhood, I think I would join them.

    We have apartments near our house where they all BBQ on the sidewalk, but there's no restaurant nearby. That would be very unusual!

    With the apartment complex right there, that is likely the only place they can BBQ.

    Like you I would be taken back at first but thinking about it would probably yield an approval.
